POLICE have confirmed to We Are Barnsley that an investigation is underway after a member of staff at Park Road Jet Garage was the victim of a hit and run.
The incident occured around 1.10pm on Sunday afternoon (December 4), when a silver Mazda pulled into the petrol station, on Park Road in Worsbrough Common.
The driver of the Mazda filled canisters with petrol, then began to drive off without payment after being approached by a female member of staff - named locally as 46-year-old Michelle Carr - who had gone outside to investigate. ]
The driver then ran into Ms Carr, leaving her bruised and sore but without any serious injuries.
Footage of the incident - which was posted on the We Are Barnsley Facebook wall - has been viewed nearly 100,000 times.
A police spokeperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and witnesses are urged to call 101 or email enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 560 of 4 December 2016."
