A BARNSLEY headteacher has asked the council to change the school's start and finishing times because it's too late for some children.
Nick Bowen, principal of Horizon, told the council it would help improve attainment as current start/exit times for year 11s is 'having a detrimental effect' on their education.
Currently, year 11s start at 10am and finished at 4.15 - from September they will come and go with year 10 at 9.30am and 3.45pm.
Other year groups will still have staggered start and finish times.
