THE Queen has selected a Barnsley company to get a top business prize.
Company Shop scooped the Award for Enterprise gong after a rigorous selection process. It was cited for its outstanding achievement.
The company's shop at Tankersley sells surplus food from supermarket giants like Waitrose and Tesco.
Founder John Marren said: “After working for 40 years to build partnerships and collaboration across the food industry to tackle waste, it is fantastic to be recognised by Her Majesty the Queen for our contribution to sustainable development in the UK.”
