THIS is the first image of what the proposed £100,000 bronze statue of ex-Barnsley player Tommy Taylor will look like.
It's been designed by Graham Ibbeson and portrays Taylor - who died aged 26 in the 1958 Munich air disaster - heading the ball.
"I wanted to do something different than the usual footballer sculpture," Graham said. "Too often they're simply either men just stood or perhaps in ball-kicking pose.
"I decided by creating three figures that are all in one the sculpture would flow more and give a better impression of how he could rise above defenders."
Ex-Red Tommy was one of eight Manchester United footballers, the so-called 'Busby Babes', who were killed in the crash 57 years ago.
